In the first episode we start from The Seventh Seal, Ingmar Bergman’s film set in Europe during the Black Death, to talk about how cinema has portrayed fear, death and uncertainty in the face of an epidemic. We compare it with what science tells us today about that pandemic and about how infectious diseases spread and are controlled.
